Michigan also requires proof of MI residency. This can be a copy of your valid Michigan driver's license OR your valid Michigan voter registration. If you're getting your MMJ card in the Great Lake State, you need to be aware of Michigan marijuana laws to ensure you're following rules and regulations.

In terms of possession laws, amounts differ depending on whether you're a medical patient or a recreational consumer. If you're a medical patient in MI, then you can possess up to 10 ounces of cannabis at one time. Recreational consumers can only possess up to 2.5 ounces, with no more than 15 of those grams being cannabis concentrates.

Growing medical marijuana in Michigan is also legal for both medical and recreational consumers. Medical patients can cultivate and harvest from up to 12 cannabis plants in their homes. However, you must state your intent to grow on the application itself when registering with the medical program.

Recreational consumers can grow up to 12 plants at once; however, you cannot cultivate more than 10 ounces at home. Both recreational and medical consumers must keep their plants in locked, enclosed spaces inaccessible to the public or minors.
